A search is underway for a man with distinctive yellow nails who sexually assaulted a young woman on a tram from Melbourne’s CBD to Bundoora.
Tiffani, 19, was with her female cousin in the early hours of last Sunday morning when she was approached around 5am.
“It was pretty disgusting, I was just creeped out, freaked out and felt horrible,” she said.
Tiffani said the man, who smelled of urine, was “slurring his words”, “looking at my chest” and “touching my upper leg”.
With the help of the victim, Victoria Police created a computer generated image of the wanted man.
He is described as being Caucasian, aged approximately 50 years old and about 170cm tall with a medium build, very short grey hair and grey stubble.
Among his identifying features were distinctive yellow nails.
"He touched her on the thigh, and then assaulted her," Detective Senior Constable Ashley Marsland said.
“Everyone has the right to use public transport without worry.”
He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with white text on either side of the zip and a white t-shirt.
"You should be able to feel safe on the tram, doesn't matter what time you come home,” Tiffani said.
