A 29-year-old man has been shot dead in outside a family home in Sydney's southwest this morning.
Police said the man, who was well known to authorities, suffered "multiple gunshot wounds" when two men exited a black sedan and opened fire in Sturt Avenue in Georges Hall about 9.20am. They attackers then left the scene.
"This is a targeted shooting, it's not a random shooting... These individuals obviously wanted to kill him, there's no doubt about that, he was the target," Detective Chief Inspector Grant Taylor said.

A crime scene has been established while a manhunt is underway for the gunmen.
It is understood the victim's mother was at home when he was shot.
"It is very important that members of the family assist us and come forward and tell us what they may have heard or seen this morning," police said.
A hairdresser at Tamed Hair by Rose, around the corner from the house, said she heard the gunshots.
"It was pretty frightening," she said.
