A Nepalase man been charged with murder after the body of a man was found in a Ballarat restaurant last night.
Police were called to the restaurant in Bridge Mall shortly before 8.30pm, after receiving reports a man in his 30s was dead.
Hari Prasad Dhakal, 49, was charged with murder in relation to the death and did not apply for bail at the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court this morning.
The court heard it was his first time in custody, and he had no family in Australia.
Police have not commented on the cause of death or on exactly where the body was found in the premises.
Forensic officers have examined a car outside the restaurant.
Mr Dhakal will face court again in March next year.
