Once every three hours a Victorian racing greyhound is euthanased.
Greyhound Racing Victoria's latest annual report reveals 3012 greyhounds registered in Victoria were put down in 2015/16 due to injury, illness, aggressive behaviour, lack of new homes post-career and "end-of-career decisions by owners".
GRV says it is reducing breeding, increasing racing opportunities and hopes to re-home all greyhounds bred in Victoria by 2018/19.
