His public update on Tuesday night (local time) came as he closes in on naming two loyal Wall Street backers to key economic positions.
It’s believed Mr Trump is considering campaign finance chair and Wall Street veteran Steve Mnuchin as his treasury secretary, and long-time backer and investor Wilbur Ross for commerce secretary.
Former US congressman Mike Rogers, who was thought to be a pick for CIA director, has been pushed out of the running.

Mr Trump also hit back at critics who pointed out his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton had won the popular vote, claiming that if he had campaigned harder in New York, Florida and California, he would have won the total popular vote “more easily”.
The real estate tycoon has fewer than 70 days until his January 20 inauguration to settle on Cabinet members and other senior appointees.
He will eventually need to fill roughly 4000 open positions.
