Dreamworld's owners are fulfilling their safety audit requirements, meaning the Gold Coast theme park could open before Christmas, Queensland Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace has announced.
The theme park has been closed since four people died on the Thunder River Rapids Ride a month ago and have 10 workplace health and safety issues to be addressed before it can open.
"My understanding is Dreamworld is anticipating to open before the busy Christmas time. I welcome that they are going to make sure everything is ticked off before they do that," Ms Grace told reporters today.
Ms Grace said the audit found no guest safety issues with any of the theme park's 34 rides.
Recommendations included using durable tags on electrical equipment and requiring staff to wear protective equipment while handling pool chemicals.
"We've got a very good system in place and clearly this was an enormous tragedy at Dreamworld," Ms Grace said.
"We want to assure the public and improve the public confidence ... that all the safety checks have been completed.
"I will be more than happy to visit Dreamworld and go on anyone of their rides, not only at Dreamworld but all the other theme parks on the Gold Coast."
Dreamworld chief executive Craig Davidson said safety was of "paramount concern" to those running Gold Coast adventure parks.
Dreamworld is addressing all 10 issues and has also stated the the Thunder River Rapids will not re-open.
Other Gold Coast theme parks Movie World, Sea World and Wet'n'Wild have also undergone safety audits.
Ms Grace believes all three will be completed by the end of the month.
