A woman has been charged after allegedly returning a breath analysis of .171 while driving with a six-month-old baby girl in the car in Coffs Harbour, on the north coast of New South Wales.

Police were called to Bray Street around 2am today following reports a vehicle almost hit a fence at a fast-food outlet.

Officers stopped the car and spoke to the 28-year-old p-plate driver.

She was then breath tested at Coffs Harbour Police Station and allegedly returned a reading of 0.171.

The woman was issued a field court attendance for high-range drink driving and is expected to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on December 19.
