A man who was found bound in the boot of a parked car on a Melbourne street was allegedly the victim of an attempted abduction.
A passerby saw the man trying to free himself from the car boot on Plenty Road in South Morang about 8am today and flagged down a passing police car.
Another witness, identified as only Elizabeth, said there was "a big police presence" at the scene.
"There were at least eight cars, undercover as well," she said.
The victim was taken to the Northern Hospital with minor injuries and the car has been seized as part of an armed crime squad investigation.
9NEWS understands the victim is not co-operating with police.
