An 18-year-old boy has died after he was allegedly stabbed by a relative at a bus stop in Fremantle, Western Australia.

Police allege the boy and his relative, a 35-year-old woman, boarded a bus at the Fremantle Train Station around 2.15pm on November 23.

Soon after, the bus driver stopped the vehicle because of how the woman was behaving and asked her to leave.

It is then alleged the woman produced a knife and stabbed the boy in the chest, causing him to collapse outside the bus.

The boy was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital and underwent emergency surgery, but died over the weekend.

The woman was charged with grievous bodily harm, and two counts of breaching bail.

She is expected to appear in court on Friday.
