A number of year 12 Victorian students said they have already received their ATAR results - five days ahead of the official release date.
Dozens of teens have taken to social media and contacted 9news.com.au to say they received their results via SMS tonight.
Rankings are not due to be released until 7am on Monday.
Year 12 student Alice told 9news.com.au it was "a shock" to receive her scores just before 8pm.
"I decided I wanted to get my results by text and sent my VCAA number to the registered number," Alice said.
"Instead of getting a confirmation email I received my results instead.
"I saw that it had happened to someone else on Facebook, and thinking it wasn’t real decided to check for myself.
"So it was a shock to get my results this evening instead of 7am on Monday 12th of December. I immediately contacted my friends to see if it had happened to them, and it had to a couple of other girls from my school."
Another student, Anthony, contacted 9news.com.au and said while he has not received his result, he is calling for all scores to be released early.
“I think that all ATARS should now be released due to this mistake!” Anthony said.
“There has been a glitch in the VCAA text messaging system which resulted in many students receiving their ATARS early,” he added.
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority and Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre have been contacted for comment.
Another parent questioned “how can it be that my daughter has been sent her ATAR score early?”
