A couple and their son are missing after setting off yesterday from the Cape Jaffa boat ramp, on South Australia’s south-eastern coast.
South Australian police confirmed the trio are from the Kingston area, more than 300 kilometres from Adelaide, and set out around lunchtime.
The alarm was raised this morning when the seven-metre boat failed to return yesterday evening.
Locals spotted the family’s empty four-wheel drive and boat trailer at the ramp and alerted police.
Police boats, State Emergency Service volunteers and local fishermen are involved in the search along with the police helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft.
