Two truck drivers have died after their vehicles collided near the town of Leeton, 550km west of Sydney, this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Mount Harris Road and Irrigation Way in Stanbridge about 2.30pm, following reports of a crash.
Authorities believe two trucks collided at the intersection, causing the vehicles to erupt into flames.
Both drivers died at the scene. Neither victim has been identified, police said.
Fire crews remain at the scene to extinguish the fire caused by the incident.
A crime scene has been established and further investigations into the cause of the collision are underway.
Police have advised motorists the intersection of Irrigation Way and Mount Harris Road will remain closed for “a significant amount of time”.
