Man arrested over alleged Condell Park hit-run which killed Sydney grandfather

A man has been arrested over an alleged hit-and-run that killed a grandfather in Sydney's south-west last week.

Zac Andreu, 73, had just left his home on Clarence Street in Condell Park when he was allegedly struck by a white Toyota Hiace van around 4pm on December 28.

Mr Andreu, who was still working full-time as a concreter, was treated at the scene but died en route to hospital. 

Police later released CCTV of a van travelling north on Clarence Street in the moments after the incident. 

A 49-year-old man was arrested at a home in Greenacre today and taken to Bankstown Police Station. 

A van was seized from a business in Greenacre last night. 

No charges have yet been laid.
