Victorian police plan to test more than 600 men for DNA in the hope of catching the killer of Victorian mother Tracy Connelly.
Ms Connelly, 40, was found dead in her van on Greeves Street, St Kilda, on July 21, 2013.
The sex worker had been operating out of her white Ford Econovan at the time of her murder, the Sunday Herald Sun reported.
Homicide detectives have since produced a list of more than 600 men who they believe were in St Kilda at the time of Ms Connelly’s death.
The extensive list of male suspects was compiled using police databases, vehicle registrations and social media.
Each of the men will be questioned by police and will undergo forensic testing as part of the ongoing investigation.
Chief Detective Inspector Mick Hughes said the homicide squad was “committed to bringing this investigation to a successful conclusion”.
“We still have significant work to do on the investigation into to Tracy Connelly’s death,” he said in a statement.
