A revolutionary emergency care clinic offering immediate specialist care has launched in Sydney’s north.

WiSE Clinic in Macquarie Park is a walk-in centre equipped with 15 emergency physicians, and a network of specialists, on call.

The centre, which opened on January 15, aims to cater for patients with non-life threatening conditions who need urgent care.

“It gives us immediate access to those results when they come up,” Dr Ciaran Ferguson told 9NEWS.

“It allows us to make good decisions early for appropriate treatment.”

WiSE Clinic offers blood testing, pathology and x-ray facilities to avoid referrals and fast-track results.

CT scan and ultrasounds are also available.

More than 70 percent of people who go to hospital emergency departments never get admitted, according to the Sydney North Health Network.

Sydney father John Gill told 9NEWS his daughter, Elly, received treatment at WiSE after suffering a stomach bug last week.

“She was really sick and I was very concerned,” Mr Gill said.

“I didn’t want to go to normal emergency where you have to wait hours.”

Chronic pancreatitis sufferer Jatinder Singh Ahuja said he received blood tests “immediately”.

“It was really important they did that immediately so they could see what happened to the organ.”

Patients admitted to the WiSE Clinic will pay a single flate-rate of $200 on the day of admission.

The fee is not covered by Medicare or private health funds.
