A 42-year-old woman has been charged with murder after the death of a Victorian mother whose body was found in bushland last month.
Joanne Martell, 45, was reported missing in May last year, though police suspect she had been missing for a longer period.
The mother-of-two was last seen in mid-2015, after leaving her dog Biscuit at a friend’s house.
Her body was located by detectives in bushland near Sorrento, on the Mornington Peninsula, on January 13.
Homicide detectives today charged a Ravenhall woman with one count of murder.
The woman is due to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
