One day you’re running the state, the next you’re sitting on the political scrap heap.
Nine’s political editor Laurie Oakes has taken his notorious “Crusher” for a test drive ahead of the Western Australian election results.
The high-tech graphic, first seen in the federal election, made a triumphant return during 9NEWS’ live coverage of the election this evening.

“All the losers will go into The Crusher,” Oakes explained to the panel.
“We can’t have the political scrap heap getting too big. We’re going to tidy up as we go tonight.”
The ALP’s Kim Beazely was The Crusher’s first test victim; an image of his face squished into a barely recognisable cube of recycling.
“It doesn’t play favourites, The Crusher, I love The Crusher,” Oakes said.
One Nation leader Pauline Hanson was next, followed by US President Donald Trump.
“Just to prove our Crusher has some real grunt, let’s do what Hillary Clinton wishes she could’ve done.”
The Nine-Galaxy exit poll is predicting a win for Labor’s Mark McGowan.
