More than $11 million in tobacco seized in NSW police operation

More than $11 million in tobacco has been seized by police from a property in southern New South Wales.

Police and officers from the Australian Taxation Office searched a property in Shannons Flat, about 40km north-west of Cooma, at 9.30am yesterday.

Officers allegedly found more than 92,000 tobacco plants and more than two tonnes of tobacco leaves.

A shotgun, ammunition and $15,000 in cash were also seized from the property.

The estimated value of the tobacco is more than $11.77 million.

Police investigations are continuing.
