Assault charges against singer Shannon Noll over an altercation outside an Adelaide strip club have been dropped.

Noll was charged over a scuffle with a bouncer outside the Crazy Horse Revue on Adelaide's Hindley Street in January.

Witnesses said the singer and bouncer clashed after Noll was removed from the venue.

Noll, 41, was not in court today but welcomed the decision on Instagram.

"Great news as I just found out that the SA Police have withdrawn the assault charge against me," Noll wrote.

"Justice prevails in the end and a big thank you to everyone for the support over the past months."

Noll's lawyer briefly addressed reporters after the singer was cleared.

"Shannon is obviously pleased with the result," Noll's lawyer said.

"He's maintained his innocence from the outset and that turned out to be the case today.

"Very happy with the withdrawal today."

Noll will not be seeking any damages from the security guard involved.
