Police are searching for a murderer after a man’s body was found under a bush at an apartment building in Notting Hill.
A woman found the dead man lying on his side, with his legs curled up, in a garden area of a Notting Hill apartment block about 9.20am.
“At this stage we are treating this as a homicide,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stephen McIntyre said this afternoon.
“The man has a number of injuries that appear to be consistent to being assaulted with a weapon.”
Det Snr Sgt Mcintyre said the victim was Asian in appearance and is believed to be aged in his late 20s to early 30s.
"No one has given us any information to connect us directly to this death," Det Snr Sgt McIntyre said.
An extensive doorknock of flats on Rusden Place was unable to uncover a witness to the fatal incident.
A second crime scene has been set up in the car park under the apartment block as police try to determine if the victim owned one of the cars.
Many of the residents in the apartment block and nearby properties attend classes at Monash University's largest campus, Clayton.
“It’s so close to my home. I feel quite nervous actually,” local Johnny Bai told 9NEWS.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
