Pauline Hanson’s One Nation risks being deregistered as a party after reportedly failing to advise the electoral commission it had switched legal structures.

A report in The Saturday Papertoday claims One Nation had been an unincorporated association since it registered in 2001 and only became an incorporated association in November last year.

The party failed to follow rules concerning its constitution and therefore could face having its registration cancelled, according to the report.

It also reportedly failed to notify the Electoral Commission of Queensland of the changes, and did not promptly update the online ABN Lookup entry.

Labor Senator Murray Watt told the Sydney Morning Heraldhe had asked the electoral commission to investigate the reports.

He echoed The Saturday Paper in claiming the incident was consistent with One Nation’s attempts to centralise the party’s power in Queensland.

9news.com.au has contacted One Nation for comment.
