The controversial Jalal brothers are back - dressed in traditional Arabic robes, sporting fake beards and dropping off ominous large black bags at random spots around Melbourne's CBD.

The cheeky trio have famously courted notoriety by staging fake drive-by shootings and mock beheadings, though their latest stunt shocks because of its charitable intentions.

Half a dozen homeless people in Melbourne now have a tablet, food vouchers, food and personal care products, thanks to the brothers dropping surprise packages next to rough sleepers.

One of the homeless men in the video is reduced to tears as he opens the bag and rifles through $600 worth of goods.

"It's not a rehabilitation of our image," Rebeen Jalal told nine.com.au. "This is a campaign for international peace day.

"We're still going to do the same style of videos we did before, but we're also going to use our large social media following for good."

Since Friday, more than 10 million people have watched the clip, which shows the brothers braving Melbourne's wintery conditions with their mystery packages.
