Forensic investigators are scouring a home in Sydney’s west after the discovery of a man’s body this morning.

Police were called to the home on Buist Street around 11.20am.

While the man has not yet been formally identified, he is believed to be aged in his 60s.

A crime scene has been established and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad is assisting local police with the investigation.

The man, who is believed to live at the share home with three others, was last seen alive last night, police said.

"He was found by another resident at the location. It's a shared rental property," Detective Chief Inspector Glen Fitzgerald told reporters at the scene.

"We haven't ruled anything out yet ... we are still very early in this investigation."

Officers are guarding the home and the street remains in lockdown.

The death is being treated as suspicious.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
