The boat of a missing mud-crabber has been found partially submerged near Dixon Island, off the Pilbara coast in Western Australia.
Recreational fishermen discovered the boat floating with just the bow visible around midday, WA Police said in a statement.
There was no sign of the vessel’s missing owner, Norman Leslie Bale.
Mr Bale, 52, has been missing since he set off alone in a dinghy from Back Beach boat ramp, 5km east of Karratha, on Friday.
A police boat is now at the scene and is expected to tow the boat back to the mainland.
The search for Mr Bale continues with aircraft and boats expected to focus on a smaller search area.
