A Queensland police officer has been charged with 11 counts of indecent treatment of a child and one count of rape.
The 46-year-old constable, from the Southern Region, was charged by child safety and sexual crimes investigators.
He has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.
"In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct," police said in a statement.
The man is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
