A woman has died and a child is seriously injured after a collision between a boat and a jet ski on New South Wales' mid-north coast.
The woman, the driver of the jetski, was killed when she collided with the boat on the Nerong Inlet at Nerong, south of Forster, about 5.30pm.
An eight-year-old boy, who was also on the jetski, received spinal injuries.
He was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital for treatment, where he is in a stable condition.
The 46-year-old skipper of the boat was also airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, where police believe he has life-threatening injuries.
A child on board the boat was not injured.
Detectives from Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command are investigating the cause of the collision, and the Marine Area Command will take over "in due course".
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
