A gunman is dead after killing a man and critically wounding two women near polling stations in the Californian city of Azusa.
Shortly before 2.45pm (local time), officers were called to a residential area after reports of shots fired near several schools, including one that was serving as a polling place, and across the street from a park that also had a polling site.
The two polling booths were shut down for several hours while officers surrounded a home where the suspect barricaded themselves inside.
It's unclear whether police fatally wounded the gunman.
No officers were hurt.
Authorities have said the attack was not election related, but are yet to determine a specific motive for the shooting.
