Three teenage boys are in custody following an alleged series of armed robberies which ended in their arrest on Melbourne’s West Gate Bridge.
Police were called to May Road in Lalor following reports of an alleged armed robbery at a jewellery store about 2pm.
It is alleged the same boys were then involved in a second attempted armed robbery at a tobacco shop on Plenty Road in Preston around half an hour later.
A dramatic pursuit then commenced on the Princes Highway, with the green Holden Commodore captured on aerial video darting past nearby vehicles.
The chase ended with police swarming the car on West Gate Bridge and arresting the three boys around 5.25pm.
Two of five inbound lanes on the West Gate remain closed as a result of the incident, according to VicTraffic.
All outbound lanes are now open.
