A man has died after allegedly being assaulted following a card game at a Sydney coffee shop.
Authorities were called shortly before 2.30pm to South Street in Granville after receiving reports a man in his 60s had suffered a heart attack.
When police arrived they quickly set up a crime scene and said they are treating the death as suspicious.
The riot squad was initially called in to control crowds around the crime scene.
The man allegedly died following a heated argument with a fellow player while gambling inside a coffee shop on the street.
Paramedics tried to revive the man but were unable.
Forensic officers are currently combing the scene for evidence.
Police took a number of men who were inside the coffee shop to Granville Police Station for questioning.
