Police are searching for a man who fled the scene of a crash in Western Australia before a woman’s body was found in a submerged car.
Police were called to Point Casuarina in Bunbury around 4.50am to reports a car had crashed into the water and became completely submerged.
Specialist divers were called to search the port and found a woman’s body inside the dark 2005 Ford Falcon sedan.
Early investigations suggest the car crashed through one of the harbour’s retaining walls.
Police say the incident appears to be a tragic accident, but won’t rule out any suspicion until they’ve spoken to the man who was seen leaving the area on foot.
The man is being described as being in his 30s, approximately 180-185cm tall, of a medium build with shoulder length brown hair.
He was last seen wearing jeans and a checked shirt.
