Bill Shorten showed a marked improvement in his democracy sausage technique when he downed a snag in Perth today.
The federal opposition leader was in the Western Australian capital in support of Labor party colleague Mark McGowan as the state headed to the polls
Mr Shorten was photographed taking a large bite from a snag in a bread roll and unlike at the last federal election, he did it the traditional way.
Last year he was mocked mercilessly for his unconventional technique of biting down into the middle of his sausage sandwich instead of taking the first bite on one end.
Social media users today commended the Labor leader for improving his technique.
“At least Bill Shorten has learned how to eat hot-dogs Australian style,” one Twitter user wrote.
