Cody Walker has arrived in Australia to help raise money for his late brother’s charity, with a series of car events set to coincide with the premiere of The Fate of the Furious.

The events will take place in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this weekend and will fundraise for Paul Walker’s charity, Reach Out Worldwide.

The organisation, which was entirely funded by the late Hollywood star, provides quick-response mobile first aid and supports relief efforts after major natural disasters and humanitarian crises around the world.

Mr Walker told The TODAY Show his brother was "never looking for recognition" for his charity work.

"Everyone knew him as a big movie star but what he was doing behind the scenes was also philanthropic work," he said.

"He was so many things other than just a car guy. He was an ocean lover, he was a people lover and he always wanted to do more."

Mr Walker said it was "really important" to him and his family to keep the charity going.

"It’s a big part of his legacy and I want to continue on."

Reach Out Worldwide sends small teams to help larger disaster relief organisations, which can get bogged down by logistical issues.

Having worked in emergency medical services, Mr Walker said it was a cause "very close to (his) heart".

The charity has been part of relief efforts in Nepal, the US, Philippines, Indonesia, Chile and Haiti.
