Two elderly residents managed to escape a blaze which caused $100,000 worth of damage to their home in St Albans this morning.
Firefighters were called to Overon Avenue in St Albans about 4.20am to find the back of the house consumed by flames.
The elderly pair managed to escape the home uninjured.
An on-scene interpreter was used to ensure no one was trapped inside.
The cause of the blaze is expected to be determined today.
